I don't know of any other sites quite like DA, although I'm sure there are other, smaller sites that let you do many of the same things.

There are two ways to look for art you like: you can search by keyword or you can search through specific galleries (you can see these on the far left of the browse page).

DA doesn't have 'friends' per se, but you can 'watch' people, which is sort of the same thing. When you watch someone, you get a message when they submit a deviation. You can watch someone by clicking the "+deviantWATCH" button on the top of their page. So, yes, let's watch each other
